Workflow

workflowCase Notes has in-built workflow and scheduling features that are configured using XML standards and is specifically tailored forthe unique challenges present in the NHS.

A workflow can be visualised as a linked graph for ease of use and understanding, with the nodes representing a unit of work or activity, and the links representing the flow of data and control between the nodes. Work can be routed to an individual or a group of users based on their role within the system, allowing for better tracking and auditing of who and how the system is being used.

The workflow capability powers several modules and services, improving process driven functions within Case Notes such as OCS, Smart Forms and e-Prescribing. Workflow also allows Library Care Pathways to be built. These are necessary as part of the Clinical Governance program which seeks to evaluate actual care given and determine best practice. They provide evidence of the care pathways used and demonstrate evidence of the delivery of care.
