Diagnostic Image Viewer

The Diagnostic Image Viewer is a fully featured web-based image review tool which includes all the standard radiological tools such as zooming, panning, window\level, as well as more advanced tools such as Curved Multi-Planar Reformatting. The module uses full diagnostic quality Dicom data and is able to support both lossy and lossless compression algorithms. The Diagnostic Image Viewer enables radiologists to have remote access to all examinations and is convenient for off-site use and multi-disciplinary team meetings.

The module provides clinicians with an intuitive, user-friendly interface with which to review and manipulate multi-modality images. It enables clinicians to review both historical images and those obtained from different modalities side-by-side. The Diagnostic Image Viewer runs on a standard PC supporting Internet Explorer, and hence is easily deployable across a hospital without the need to install a client application on each machine.  This use of standard technology allows the module to be used from remote locations thus enabling clinicians to access images securely from home or other hospital sites connected to the hospital network.

The module utilises lossless compression techniques to ensure that images are transferred to the clinician in as short a time as possible but without compromising on diagnostic information content.
