Overview
Developments worldwide in healthcare IT indicate a growing need for regional EHR frameworks and integration layers to connect care organisations and settings. Case Notes can provide a complete framework or major components for use within such an integrated system.
These include services for:
- Master Patient Index
- User Directory Service
- Patient Data Repository Service
Case Notes can also provide a Portal for use in viewing and managing patient records held within the repository.
Case Notes components have been licensed to the UK NHS Care Records Service or ' Spine', supporting Spine Directory Services for User Access Control and Personal Spine Information Services for patient data. In CSW's London implementation, Case Notes provides the local source of information for use when the external service is not available and interacts with the Enterprise Services Manager in a way which mimics the Spine itself.
The MPI and Service User directory are implemented through a standards based framework incorporating Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) messaging and services interfaces. This provides Case Notes with a capability to support integration with national, regional and local infrastructure.
