Case Notes Services
Demographics Management
Case Notes’ Demographics Management service provides information on patient demographics to authorised Case Notes users as they interact with the system. Any patient search operation will trigger a request to an internal Master Patient Index or to an external service to display the relevant demographics information. External services may be a regional Master Patient Index; a single connected system - such as a billing system; or a service which is one of a group - such as in the UK NHS Care Records Service (NHS CRS).
A request to the internal or external service is managed by the Enterprise Services Manager (ESM). Using a ‘generic’ interface, the ESM connects the Demographics Management to the external service using an adaptor configured to meet the specific requirements of that service. With the advanced version of ESM, Case Notes provides the ability to switch between external and internal demographics registers as required.
The Demographics Management service also supports Case Notes’ Merge, Unmerge, Delete module. When a Case Notes' user is alerted to de-synchronisation of a patient’s internal and external demographic details, the Merge, Unmerge, Delete module enables the user to correct one record using the other as a source.
