Case Notes Services
Import
Import is a core Case Notes service which can import any valid ‘patient event’ into Case Notes’ patient record repository. The import module is a fully configurable, batch-operated service.
Typical uses include:
- Order Communications and Results Reporting interfaces to Laboratory or Radiology systems
- Messaging between forms in systems in a shared care environment
Import can be configured in a variety of modes for differing uses such as indicating ‘patient check’ information, locating specific elements of a patient’s events for indexing and callout to a custom process for site-specific import processing.
- Features
- Integrates with conversion filters or fed from a messaging hub to provide HL7 interfaces to any legacy system
- Patient check can be configured to check against any Patient ID – such as NHS number, PAS number or external MPI
- Character filtering to improve data quality
Triggers other internal Case Notes modules such as Workflow or In-Tray - Checks imported data against an event schema to ensure only correctly structured events are admitted
- Uses a working directory and checks for incoming files, or can poll message queues or socket connections. It also provides a directory for failed messages and schema specifications
- Benefits
- Imports data from existing applications into a patient record
- Integrates specialist or departmental systems to the patient record
- Patient check provides assurance of data being correctly associated with the patient
- Triggers to other modules provide timely information and drive progress in workflows, including Care Pathways, without communication delays or user intervention
- Validation can enable problems with incoming data to be solved without distraction to the receiving organisation
