Case Notes Services

Relationship Management

Case Notes’ Relationship Management service manages information about which users have a legitimate relationship with a patient.

Relationship management will be specific within each organisation. Users with appropriate permissions may create specific relationships by associating the patient to one or more carers or workgroups. Relationships may also be created by users sending information to each other during normal system use.

During system use, the Relationship Management service provides relationship information to Case Notes modules. This information prevents access to patient data unless a legitimate relationship exists, or permits override in an emergency scenario and triggers an alert to specified system users.

Relationship information can be held on an internal source, or an external service such as regional or national services which cross multiple organisations. The request to the internal or external service is managed by Case Notes' Enterprise Services Manager module (ESM). With the advanced version of the ESM, Case Notes also provides the ability to switch between external and internal Relationship information sources.
